A triathlon is an endurance sports event consisting of swimming, cycling and running over various distances. The Noosa Triathlon Club brings together like minded people living in and around Noosa Heads on the Sunshine coast, Queensland and was established to provide information, support services, training & racing activities, friendship and fun for all ages and abilities. The club caters for beginners up to professional Triathletes and hold monthly club events as well as supporting club members when participating in races such as the Noosa Tri and the Tri Series. Club History and Background The Noosa Tri Club was officially formed in the mid 1980’s. It currently has 200 members, catering for beginners up to professional Triathletes. The financial year and competition calendar runs from July 1 to June 30 each year with the “end of year function”/prize giving held in July/August. The Club AGM is usually held in August each year. The club endeavors to integrate club races, usually held on the last Sunday of each month, so as not to conflict with the regional and national competitions. In addition, club training is also provided on a regular basis in specialised activities…transitions, wind training, and track. Most of these actives, including the races are conducted from Lions Park at Noosa Heads unless otherwise advised. The club race calendar usually comprises a number of triathlon events and various distances (sprint/masters/Olympic) commencing in August and running through to April. In addition, a longer distance triathlon and interclub challenge is incorporated into the program. Through the “winter” season the club conducts a monthly series of road races. This website is designed to encourage club members to be active in providing information and help to fellow club members and other interested parties. It takes all sizes so dig out that bike and those running shoes and join in! Club Membership Form.pdf |
